A classic that's starting to show its age. Super Mario
Bros defined the genre of exploring a world and attacking
enemies while heading towards a goal, in this case rescuing
the princess. The graphics are clean and crisp, and the
number of secrets and different ways to go about playing
(going down secret pipes, finding beanstalks and warp
zones) really add to the gameplay.
However, since this type of game has been imitated and
improved upon so many times, the uniqueness of the experience
is all but gone. Still highly recommended as a history
lesson.
