Silent Hill 3 is a great direct sequel to the original PSOne game. This time you play as Heather, a teenage girl, and you are thrown into the action from the get go.

Gameplay is similar to the original Silent Hill, with a mix of monster fighting and puzzle solving. The multiple "worlds" are back and are as creepy as ever. The controls are about the same as well, and while an improvement over the Resident Evil series, they can be a little clunky at times.

The graphics and sound in this game are fantastic. The mood is perfectly disturbing; in particular there is a sequence involving a mirror that freaked the crap out of me. You'll know it when you get to it. Silent Hill 3 has some of the best graphics on PS2, rivaling the Xbox and Gamecube.

There is a pretty well thought out story to the game, but it doesn't really kick in until the second half. Also some of the puzzles can be very obtuse, particularly if you select the hard mode. I thoroughly enjoyed Silent Hill 3. If you like Survival Horror games you should definitely check this one out.
