I guess you would call this game a side scrolling fighter, although the fighting consists of shooting some sword bullet type thing at enemies, and jumping. And also hanging from trees by your tail. The movement is along a straight path, basically along a line.
The game is cute and cartoony, and probably a better title for children rather than adults due to its simplicity. Since you don't really have much ability to dodge bad guys, the boss battles tend to be just button mashing events. Sound is unobtrusive.
It has some cute features. When you hit the bad guys their armor falls off and they run away in their underwear. My five year old kids dig that. When you hang from a curved tree branch you slide along by your tail, so you can sort of swing through the trees like a monkey, although this takes more dexterity than my kids have and is a bit of a challenge for me, as a (mostly) adult.
