Mr. DO! Is one of my favorite 80s arcade
games and the Colecovision plays a fine version.
Similar to Dig Dug, Mr. DO!
Is a make your own maze game. By digging tunnels, you
either collect all the fruit or kill all the monsters
to clear each board—ten in all. You can throw a
ricocheting ball or drop large fruit on enemies. Instead
of receiving extra lives by reaching certain high scores,
you must kill five "letter monsters" (E-X-T-R-A).
The graphics are simple, but quite good. The boards are
colorful, but the character sprites are one color and
the animation is a little choppy. The music and sound
effects are very good and close to the arcade. The gameplay
is great—all the elements of the arcade game are
here, except for the extra man Mr DO!
animation.
