OK, when you get in in the two pack with Ultraverse Prime it sweetens the deal. Probably not worth it by itself.
The long movie at the beginning is pretty low quality, and while it sets up a backstory, I think it promises some gameplay that looks cooler than the actual game. Typical awful acting and voicing. And it looks like they couldn't afford to do everything they wanted in the movie, so they hand rendered some really awful effects over it.
The game could be OK but it isn't really done as well as it should be, which frankly is disappointing for a Psygnosis title. The 3D video in the background is a neat idea but your ship doesn't really interact with it. The bad guys seem to interact with it a bit, flying behind the scenery on occasion. The collision detection is spotty and your ship kinda blinks when it's hit. But it blinks sometimes anyway. yech.
While the controls are usually responsive, sometimes they go out to lunch for a half second, basically just long enough to notice.
This game isn't a total flop. If you get it with Prime it's worth a little time in your CD player; otherwise you can just leave this one be.
