Turbo Challenge is one of the best Outrun
clones, especially since Outrun had not been properly
ported to a home system until recently. Even now the game
is fun on its own merits. The crisp graphics and sense
of speed are quite nice, and I still enjoy its hills and
valleys.
The basic gameplay is standard driving fare; go really
fast and don't hit anything. The opponents have no real
A.I. to speak of, they simply swerve left and right. This
is spruced up by league standings, track obstacles, manual
transmision [I recommend 'alternate control'], and the
need to keep track of fuel.
