While RPG technology has become more advanced since 1991,
Final Fantasy II is still one of my favorite rpgs.
The art, while simple today, captures the mood of the
story perfectly. The music seems to be the best Final
Fantasy music to date (sad to say) and the story is one
of the best in the genre.
Some may prefer Final Fantasy III, and I agree
that game has some wonderful moments (the opera house
for example), but overall Final Fantasy II is my
favorite. I am still amazed of how many of the monsters
were brought back in Final Fantasy VII.
