When I first got Dig Dug for the 2600, I was put
off by how the graphics didn't match the arcade version.
However, after further playing, I was impressed by how
well it did match the music and sounds of the game, as
well as keeping all of the game play intact.
As Dig Dug, you dig underground trying to (literally)
blow up the bad guys. They are Pookas (red blobs with
snorkel gear) and Fygars (green fire breathing dragons).
You can use your air pump to inflate the bad guys, or
dig tunnels and drop rocks on them.
Dig Dug has a nice balance of game play thateven
considering the 2600's limitationsbrings a smile
to my face and remains fun to play.
