Ballistic is an interesting puzzle game
where colored balls slide along a spiral path toward your
tank in the center. Your tank rotates and fires more balls
that join the chain where they strike. If your ball makes
three or more of the same color in a row, the row is eliminated
from the board. If the balls around the gap are three
or more of the same color, they join and then are removed
in a chain reaction.
The game play is fair. Control is decent and the puzzle
has an addictive quality, but there aren't many options
or much in game variation. The sound is very nice but
the graphics are quite plain. When the screen is very
full, there is some slow-down.
This game is the pack-in with my Samsung Extiva player
so I didn't have the highest expectations. It is basically
the same game as Zuma, which can be played
free on Yahoo. In addition to being better looking, Zuma
has more variety in game, including different paths for
the ball and two paths snaking past your single cannon
in some boards.
